Grey skys

It's a little bit like this today, and that's alright with me. It is the perfect day to be her. But I'm her:

And that's alright with me, too. How are you enjoying your day?

Home | Missing the big snowstorm

Call me crazy, but I'm slightly depressed that I'm still visiting my family, while my husband and our friends are about to enjoy a huge blizzard. Here in W we are getting, joy of all joys, ice and freezing rain. I'm just hoping we'll be able to get back up to H according to schedule!

Well friends, don't have too much fun without us.

Nevertheless, we are having a great time. Lots of sleeping and lounging for me, as I have had a bad case of the flu for 3 days now, and lots of Grandma time, waltzing around the kitchen with Uncle I, and napping in a bean bag chair for Seb. Oh, and someone got his first 2 teeth!

P.S. Then: Pregnant in Paris, Twins in Paris. Now: Babies in Paris

Home | Winter.

One can't deny that it's beautiful. As I type, a fresh layer of snow is falling outside, and I can't help but get a little excited about the huge flakes.

This blog gets me excited about living on the East Coast. Out of the options, I hope Connecticut is our final destination. Only time will tell. Cody is hard at work on grad school apps right now, so we should find out in the next few months where we'll be moving.

You know those divinely gorgeous clothbound books from Anthropologie? Well, I made a discovery. (Maybe I'm the last to have made it?) Those same books are called clothbound Penguin classics and can be found here, and you can buy them from Amazon for way cheaper than Anthro. I would like to get this one and this one next.

I finished Treasure Island last night (!), and have to say that I was blown away. I never wanted to read it because I thought it would be dull, but it was anything but that. I actually finished the last two chapters while I was on an elliptical! This inconvenient reading spot got me thinking, maybe a Kindle would be a good future purchase? While I was wedging my book atop my water bottle and behind the stationary handle bars, I was thinking a nice flat book would be just the thing. Do you have a Kindle? What do you think of it?

Now to decide what to read next...

Home | January One

Happy New Year! I hope you had a lovely Christmas with family and friends, and had a great New Year's Eve. We were with friends enjoying delicious whiskey sours.

Do you have any new year's resolutions? I have a few that I'm really excited about.

1. Cody and I are going to read each day's reading in My Utmost for His Highest, as well as the corresponding chapter in the Bible, and then discuss what we've read. Today's was about conforming our will to His, giving our all for the glory of God and choosing to follow Him daily—My Utmost for His Highest.

2. Spend less time on the computer. I'm really excited about this one, even though it means that this blog will suffer for it. This decision is an outgrowth of the way I spent my Christmas break. It was so liberating, and I actually found time to read! Which leads me to my third resolution:

3. Read more! I have always loved to read, but at the same time, it has become a struggle for me to make time for it. I finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone over Christmas break and am working on Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island right now (I have the gorgeous Anthropologie version (!!), compliments of my sister). I also bought The Secret Garden and Peter Pan when I went to Anthropologie while at home.

Praying that you and yours are blessed this new year.
