Friday Fashion—Make A Spectacle

I love plastic frames. They are so old Hollywood.

I got my first pair of glasses when I was about 13 (or 15?) and have always thought I looked like a granny in anything other than plastic frames. Of course, I also enjoy the quirky/artsty/nerdy look they give, but more than that, to me, they seem so classic and decisive. There is no hiding behind a pair of horn-rimmed glasses.

Do you wear glasses? What kind do you like? I’m in the market for a new pair because of a mishap during my freshman year of college. It was a pile-up for a picture; my glasses perished. I only wear them at home now, and even then avoid them if I can. I tried a few recently, and think I might go a little crazy and get some bigger ones. I thought they would look bad, but I actually think they looked way better than the small ones! Cody needs new glasses as well(!), and I’m hoping to convince him that he would look sweet in plastic frames. Maybe if I told him he would look like Michael Caine...

My inspiration. Probably the cutest woman in the sweetest glasses.

  1. For my next pair, which I desperately need, because my glasses have also perished, I am going to go to spex club. I'm leaning toward the "Andy," but the "Wayfarer" would be sweet, too.
