Little One | Broken Tricycle & Leru Babies

I kind of hate Zulily because just this week they've introduced me to two of the most lovely baby clothing lines and I don't have money to buy some of their gorgeous pieces for my little men. So since I can't buy them, I thought I'd tempt you. So kind of me, I know. Also, in case you're wondering what's so special about the sea of solids that Leru Babies boasts, notice the incredible colors they have in their footed pants. Pants with feet are God's gift to mamas in my book and nearly impossible to find in any color apart from pastels or white. I don't think Broken Tricyle needs any introduction...

P.S.  Snag what's left of Leru BabiesBroken Tricycle on Zulily before I do, and consequently commit a terrible crime against our bank account.

  1. I've been an anonymous reader for a while and I just have to ask: what exactly is the point of complaining every post about your money situation and lusting over (unnecessary and frivolous) things that you cannot afford? I understand you want your little men to look adorable, but it seems as if you need a major reality check. Lots of families live on budgets while one (or both!) spouses are in graduate school and they make do. Put the organic J. Crew catalog vision of your life on hold and gain some perspective by focusing on what you do have and not spend so much time complaining about what you don't.

    1. i'm sorry that it sounds as if i'm complaining about our financial status. i truly don't mean to come across that way, but apparently i do. i will certainly be more cautious of the way i talk, because as i said, i don't intend to complain. i have always loved beautiful and quality textiles, homes, etc., but i am extremely blessed not only with the possessions that i do have, but with a loving family and loving friends. thank you for your honesty, but may i be honest, too? i caution you to remember that reading someone's thoughts is very different than having a conversation. i'm assuming that i don't personally know you, nor you me. i'm not a great writer, i know that, and honestly probably come across very different than i intend more often than i would like on my blog. please be gracious. there is no need to admonish me, or anyone else, with exaggerations and false assumptions, which are meant to hurt and discourage.

  2. Mary,
I so appreciate being able to identify with someone who desires to provide a beautiful and inspiring home environment for her husband and child while exercising restraint and being fiscally responsible. I've always found your posts to be uplifting, entertaining, and valuable.

I LOVE the Broken Tricycle clothes! It looks like they are one of the few who understand what shape baby pants need to be. So cute and wonderfully simple.

    1. thanks, kate. : ) i'm glad you find encouragement in my posts. that's my goal, though admittedly i lose sight of it sometimes. and i had to laugh when you said, " It looks like they are one of the few who understand what shape baby pants need to be." because i know we're both thinking CLOTH DIAPERS! roomy in the rear and cozy on the legs, haha.

  3. Do they sell that awesome little recliner, too? That is adorable. And ditto Kate's comment - I appreciate your honesty about budget woes; it's nice to have some long-distance solidarity with other women in similar situations. Plus, I love learning from your good taste - you have such an appreciation for beauty and quality.
