Cody's birthday was on Thursday, and we had a great day together. The two of us went out to lunch at Chipotle, and then spent the afternoon in a paddle boat. Later, Anna arrived and we all drove to Newport, Kentucky, and enjoyed an amazing dinner at The Hofbrauhaus. We Streckers do love German things! The weather was perfect, and we had a lovely little nook outside. After dinner, we came home, put Bruno to bed, and had some delicious icebox cake and icecream.
We even had some unexpected prehistoric guests!
Happy Birthday, my love. I am and always will be thankful for every new year with you.
Happy Birthday, Cody! Mary, did you make your own chocolate wafers for the cake or were you able to find those elusive Nabisco ones? I'm thinking of making this for an upcoming birthday, so I'm curious how it went!

hey kate! i did make my own. i didn't even bother trying to find them, and you know, sometimes just making something at home when you already have all of the ingredients, seems simpler than going to the grocery! : ) they were pretty easy to make, so don't let that stop you! i made the cookies one day and then the cake the next.
