18/52

"Joining Jodi's 52 Project with "A portrait of my children, once a week, every week, in 2014."

Sebastian | Lots of exploring and climbing these days. He was fascinated by the Freiburger Bächle, and I can’s say that I blame him. Our hosts told us that it’s said that if a man steps his foot in the Bächle he has to marry a woman from Freiburg. I was secretly hoping our boys would lose their balance... Freiburg was stunning. Seb was also the happy recipient of a blue balloon, and rode a short stretch on the Straßenbahn (we don’t have those in Reutlingen and he thought they were so cool, probably excited about their similarity to Maybelle the Cablecar).

Bruno | Still teething, but if you’ve got to grow 4 molars at once, you might as well do it in the Schwarzwald. Despite being in pain, and one tired little fellow this weekend, Bruno had a great time chasing our hosts pet gray parrot around, mimicking her sounds and talking to her—eagerly awaiting a response—and becoming BFF with Jonny. I’m pretty sure he also soaked up every bit of grandmotherly and grandfatherly attention from our hosts, who positively pampered every one of us.
